Bob Harrison unveils plans for a new golf course on the Scottish island of Jura

In exciting news for the Scottish golf industry, Australian architect Bob Harrison has unveiled plans to build a world-class 18-hole golf course on the small Hebridean island of Jura. The course will become part of the 14,000-acre Ardfin Estate, which occupies the southern tip of an island best known for its single malt scotch whiskey and with a current population of just 180. In announcing the new development Harrison described the Ardfin site as the “most beautiful I have ever seen in my time in golf”.

Bob Harrison's work recognised in latest Top 100 ranking list

Australian Golf Digest magazine released its 2010 Top 100 ranking of Australian golf courses in March, with six Bob Harrison courses featured among the top half of the list. Beyond his new course projects, Harrison has also redesigned holes at the nation's number 2 ranked course New South Wales GC. In all there were nine Harrison courses in the Top 100, including the National Moonah and Ellerston which both appeared in the Top 6.
